1ª lectura:
Los ninivitas habían abandonado el mal camino
Lectura de la profecía de Jonás 3, 1-5. 10
El Señor dirigió la palabra a Jonás:
«Ponte en marcha y ve a la gran ciudad de Nínive; allí les anunciarás el mensaje que yo te comunicaré»
Jonás se puso en marcha hacia Nínive, siguiendo la orden del Señor. Nínive era una ciudad inmensa, hacían falta tres días para recorrerla. Jonás empezó a recorrer la ciudad el primer día, proclamando:
«Dentro de cuarenta días Nínive será arrasada».
Los ninivitas creyeron en Dios; proclamaron un ayuno y se vistieron con rudo sayal, desde el más importante al menor.
Vio Dios su comportamiento, cómo habían abandonado el mal camino, y se arrepintió de la desgracia que había determinado enviarles. Así que no la ejecutó.
Palabra de Dios
Salmo:
Sal 24, 4-5ab. 6-7bc. 8-9
R. Señor, enséñame tus caminos.
Señor, enséñame tus caminos, instrúyeme en tus sendas: haz que camine con lealtad; enséñame, porque tú eres mi Dios y Salvador. R.
Recuerda, Señor, que tu ternura y tu misericordia son eternas; acuérdate de mí con misericordia, por tu bondad, Señor. R.
El Señor es bueno y es recto, y enseña el camino a los pecadores; hace caminar a los humildes con rectitud, enseña su camino a los humildes. R.
2ª lectura:
La representación de este mundo se termina.
Lectura de la primera carta del apóstol san Pablo a los Corintios 7, 29-31
Digo esto, hermanos: que el momento es apremiante.
Queda como solución que los que tienen mujer vivan como si no la tuvieran; los que lloran, como si no lloraran; los que están alegres, como si no se alegraran; los que compran, como si no poseyeran; los que negocian en el mundo, como si no disfrutaran de él: porque la representación de este mundo se termina.

Aleluya Mc 1,15 R. Aleluya, aleluya, aleluya. V. Está cerca el reino de Dios, convertíos y creed en el Evangelio. R.
Después de que Juan fue entregado, Jesús se marchó a Galilea a proclamar el Evangelio de Dios; decía:
«Se ha cumplido el tiempo y está cerca el reino de Dios. Convertíos y creed en el Evangelio».
Pasando junto al mar de Galilea, vio a Simón y a Andrés, el hermano de Simón, echando las redes en el mar, pues eran pescadores.
Jesús les dijo:
«Venid en pos de mí y os haré pescadores de hombres».
Inmediatamente dejaron las redes y lo siguieron.
Un poco más adelante vio a Santiago, hijo de Zebedeo, y a su hermano Juan, que estaban en la barca repasando las redes. A continuación los llamó, dejaron a su padre Zebedeo en la barca con los jornaleros y se marcharon en pos de él.

READING OF THE DAY
First reading from the Book of the Prophet Jonah Jon 3:1-5, 10
The word of the LORD came to Jonah, saying: “Set out for the great city of Nineveh, and announce to it the message that I will tell you.” So Jonah made ready and went to Nineveh, according to the LORD’S bidding. Now Nineveh was an enormously large city; it took three days to go through it. Jonah began his journey through the city, and had gone but a single day’s walk announcing, “Forty days more and Nineveh shall be destroyed, “ when the people of Nineveh believed God; they proclaimed a fast and all of them, great and small, put on sackcloth.
When God saw by their actions how they turned from their evil way, he repented of the evil that he had threatened to do to them; he did not carry it out.
Second reading from the First Letter of Saint Paul to the Corinthians 1 Cor 7:29-31
I tell you, brothers and sisters, the time is running out. From now on, let those having wives act as not having them, those weeping as not weeping, those rejoicing as not rejoicing, those buying as not owning, those using the world as not using it fully. For the world in its present form is passing away.
After John had been arrested, Jesus came to Galilee proclaiming the gospel of God: “This is the time of fulfillment. The kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.”
As he passed by the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting their nets into the sea; they were fishermen. Jesus said to them, “Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Then they abandoned their nets and followed him. He walked along a little farther and saw James, the son of Zebedee, and his brother John. They too were in a boat mending their nets. Then he called them. So they left their father Zebedee in the boat along with the hired men and followed him.

Première lecture
Lecture du livre de Jonas (Jon 3, 1-5.10)
La parole du Seigneur fut adressée de nouveau à Jonas : « Lève-toi, va à Ninive, la grande ville païenne, proclame le message que je te donne sur elle. » Jonas se leva et partit pour Ninive, selon la parole du Seigneur. Or, Ninive était une ville extraordinairement grande : il fallait trois jours pour la traverser. Jonas la parcourut une journée à peine en proclamant : « Encore quarante jours, et Ninive sera détruite ! » Aussitôt, les gens de Ninive crurent en Dieu. Ils annoncèrent un jeûne, et tous, du plus grand au plus petit, se vêtirent de toile à sac.
En voyant leur réaction, et comment ils se détournaient de leur conduite mauvaise, Dieu renonça au châtiment dont il les avait menacés.
Deuxième lecture
Lecture de la première lettre de saint Paul apôtre aux Corinthiens (1 Co 7, 29-31)
Frères, je dois vous le dire : le temps est limité. Dès lors, que ceux qui ont une femme soient comme s’ils n’avaient pas de femme, ceux qui pleurent, comme s’ils ne pleuraient pas, ceux qui ont de la joie, comme s’ils n’en avaient pas, ceux qui font des achats, comme s’ils ne possédaient rien, ceux qui profitent de ce monde, comme s’ils n’en profitaient pas vraiment. Car il passe, ce monde tel que nous le voyons.
Après l’arrestation de Jean le Baptiste, Jésus partit pour la Galilée proclamer l’Évangile de Dieu ; il disait : « Les temps sont accomplis : le règne de Dieu est tout proche. Convertissez-vous et croyez à l’Évangile. »
Passant le long de la mer de Galilée, Jésus vit Simon et André, le frère de Simon, en train de jeter les filets dans la mer, car c’étaient des pêcheurs. Il leur dit : « Venez à ma suite. Je vous ferai devenir pêcheurs d’hommes. » Aussitôt, laissant leurs filets, ils le suivirent.
Jésus avança un peu et il vit Jacques, fils de Zébédée, et son frère Jean, qui étaient dans la barque et réparaient les filets. Aussitôt, Jésus les appela. Alors, laissant dans la barque leur père Zébédée avec ses ouvriers, ils partirent à sa suite.
